Reference Sites
The following sites have volunteered to act as a "Reference Site" for other S.U.R.F users. They aim to act as a resource to other simulation users, simulation site developers and simulation networks in various aspects of simulation methodology, development, resources, etc. Their direct contact details have been included so that you may can chose to discuss any issues around simulation with them directly, rather than using the bulletin boards. Please note that each site is offering this service for free, as an aside to their "day jobs" and that therefore, the time they can offer you may be restricted by the needs of their own job. Good luck with your networking!
CSESaR
CSESaR is a collaborative effort supported by Shands Jacksonville Medical Center and the University of Florida Jacksonville. The mission of the center is to promote quality patient care, expand patient safety initiatives and enhance multidisciplinary health care, education and teamwork through simulation and goal-directed training.
CAMC Institute
Simulation at CAMC and WVU/Charleston Division consists of a dedicated simulation teaching laboratory encompassing approximately 7,000 square feet. The center maintains a full-time staff, including a curriculum development specialist who will assist faculty members with integrating simulation into their curricula. CAMC is multidisciplinary in the approach to deliver simulated education to RN’s, RRT’s, Residents and Fellows as well as physician staff in a broad range of fields of practice and clinical staff within a three campus hospital system.
Penn Medicine Clinical Simulation Center
The Penn Medicine Clinical Simulation Center provides training to physicians, students, and healthcare professionals from all across the Penn Health System, the School of Medicine, neighboring institutions, and the global healthcare field with the goal of improving patient safety. The 22,000 sq foot state-of-the-art facility includes human patient simulators set in realistic hospital settings for team training as well as task trainers for individual instruction in procedural skills such as central line placement, endotracheal intubation, laparoscopic procedures, and fiberoptic endoscopy.
